Central Florida Communities is a Florida non-profit organization serving individuals with developmental disabilities. We operate ICFs and group homes in Orange, Seminole, Brevard and Lake Counties.

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide a warm, supportive home environment for each client allowing them to reach their goals and potential for an independent and fulfilling life.
• Provide direct supervision of DSP staff on the floor.
• Assist with scheduling and arrangement of coverage.
• Evaluate and document performance of DSP team members.
• Implement behavior plans/protocols and service goals including, but not limited to areas of self-care, daily living, social skills, leisure activities, vocational skills and community inclusion.
• Work closely with BCBA and leadership team to ensure behavior management protocols are being followed and respond to behavioral incidents quickly and calmly to ensure the safety of clients and staff.
• Aid with personal care including toileting, bathing, dressing, meal assistance, and hygiene needs as needed while fostering independence at the level of each individual.
• Generate timely, accurate electronic records for each client related to their health and safety while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Assist leadership team with administrative responsibilities as assigned.
• Successfully complete all required initial and ongoing trainings as required. Ensure residents' rights and promote optimal quality of life standards. Report incidents of abuse in accordance with facility procedure and the Disabled Persons Abuse Negligence Act.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or working in a nursing home or childcare setting or educational equivalent.
• Demonstrated supervisory experience in a related field.
• Caring, compassionate demeanor with a dedication to client safety.
• Flexibility to cover selected overtime shifts as needed.
• Florida Driver’s License in good standing (if driving position).
• Read, write, and comprehend English.
• Perform physical requirements associated with transferring/positioning individuals, implementation of behavioral crisis management and lifting/carrying up to 50lbs.
