Central Florida Communities a is a Florida non-profit organization serving individuals with developmental disabilities. We operate Intermediate Care Facilities and group homes in Orange, Seminole, Brevard and Lake Counties.

The goal of Central Florida Communities is to promote the highest quality of life for each individual based on their needs by providing a stimulating, attractive and warm home environment in addition to enabling each resident to live as full members of their communities.

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect the facility on a regular basis to ensure that the grounds, facility, equipment and vehicles are maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures and all hazardous are properly identified.
• Establish an effective preventative priority maintenance program for the internal and external areas of the facility to include painting, maintaining facility equipment, floor and carpet cleaning, ground maintenance etc. as required.
• Follow Life Safety Procedures to ensure departmental compliance with Federal, State, local and company regulations. Assist with surveyor walkthroughs to ensure compliance.
• Perform light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, tile flooring and laminating work.
• Requisition, control and maintain an adequate level of required maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Replace equipment as necessary and approved. Ensure that the Environmental Services budget is maintained and that all outside services are properly supervised and completed in accordance with regulations.
• Supervise Maintenance and RCA staff (in conjunction with the Direct Support Professional Supervisors).
• Maintain twenty-four hour on-call availability.
• Maintain workshop area to include proper usage and storage of facility tools as well as adherence to safety guidelines.
• Demonstrates understanding of, and complies with, all policies related to safety. Performs work safely and without injury to self or others. Identifies hazards or dangerous behaviors in the environment and takes immediate action to avoid, mitigate or eliminate, and report hazardous conditions or unsafe behaviors.
• Ensures all direct reports understand all policies related to safety and their role in ensuring safety for themselves, for residents/consumers, for co-workers and for families, guardians and visitors.
• Provides training on job-specific safe work procedures including fire systems and evacuation safety, conducting and documenting monthly drills etc.
• Punctuality and regular attendance at the work-site, including required extra hours, are essential functions of the job in order to ensure safe and appropriate levels of care for our residents at all times. Adheres to attendance policy. Reports to work on time as scheduled. Completes required training on time and regularly attends staff meetings.
• Project a professional appearance and a willing, positive and courteous expression in performing tasks. Cooperate with fellow workers, supervisors, residents, visitors in performing tasks. Ensure compliance with all federal and state rules and regulations.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Supervisor/Program Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3 year's related experience in an environmental services, maintenance or contractor role with demonstrated supervisory responsibility.
• Comfort level working in a facility that caters to a vulnerable population.
• Caring, compassionate demeanor with a dedication to client and staff safety.
• Ability to be on-call when needed.
• For purposes of effective communication with residents, families and staff must be able to see, hear, speak, read and write English.
• Maintain the ability to stretch, push, pull, kneel, reach, twist, walk and stand for extended periods. Must demonstrate the ability to lift unassisted at least fifty (50) lbs.

• Florida Driver’s License in good standing.
